Got a bit more time for this posting!

Hello again!

First a pic of the restaurant in the stilted fishing village in Hong Kong where we had a fabulous and very cheap fish lunch. Lovely fresh fish and vegetables washed down with Chinese beer(lager!) - yum yum.

These are people's houses!!!

Next stop Auckland for a few hours then Christchurch where the next pic was taken over a morning coffee. Campervan collected, we spent the first night on the Banks Peninsula, lovely, and then over a mountain on a dirt track marked 'not suitable for caravans or campervans'! Bloody hell - that was scary!! Then up the east coast for night 3 and Blenheim for night 4. We've stayed here, at Nelson for two nights and been into the Abel Tasman National Park for the afternoon. We've had our first rain today, mainly light, and Mrs Shit has just cooked lovely pork chops for our dinner.
That's it for now; we're heading over to Westport tomorrow and then down the west coast for 'whitebait and glaciers'.
Nobby & Jackie.
P.S. Have a good GOBDO today!

Vera the Eagle

Vera had a wonderful eagle on the 13th on the Old Course at St.Mellion. Having driven the green with a fantastic shot he sank a 12 footer for his eagle. No wonder he is on a high!

Hong Kong

A very hasty posting from HK airport before boarding for onward flight to Auckland. We've had a fantastic time here staying with Vicki's dad and Laiwan. Great experience, they have taken us all over the place; up to the peak above HK via tram/rail, great views over city and over to Kow Loon. Star ferry to Kow Loon and then up to Mon Kok for 'the market experience'. Today by cable car up to 'The Big Budda' and then by bus down to a fantastic fishing village on stilts where we had another lovely meal in the 'local cafe'. Still not brilliant with the chopsticks but managed to get most of it in my mouth! I think they're about to call our flight so, so long for now. Over and out from Mr & Mrs S**t

Where were they ?

Well it was the last big game before Nobby's shit world tour (or is it Nobby Shit's world tour) and I thought maybe all of the GOBDO's would be out to rob him before he left. How wrong I was, only myself and Reg came out to play and Reg had a back nine collapse which meant Nobby won a pound ! There were some very reasonable excuses for absenteeism apart from (hang your head in shame) Paul Norry who told me ( in complete secrecy ) that he had a much better offer and that now he was 'so long' he really didn't see the reason to play with us anymore. Well he has learnt his lesson and has realised that he cannot win amongst the more seasoned professionals and is crawling back to us next week where he will find forgiveness from his fellow GOBDO's. I look forward to extracting a pound from him then.
Have a great trip Nobby and come back to us safe. Remember one day the cushion may be yours for a week.
All the best boys
Vera

Wednesday

Alban says he cannot make it this week as he's working unfortunately.

Josh will be tied up until at least midday.

Reg said that he was doubtful for this week as he was away until Tuesday.

I'm still working against the clock to get my garden sorted before next Monday.

So, Vera and Paul, how about playing somewhere close to home this week to maximise the chances of Reg and Josh being able to attend. Not much rain recently so should be no need for a links course. How about Lanhydrock or St Austell?

Well played Josh 'captain marvel'

Although we were unlucky enough to 'win' the trophy again, a few words are due to Josh and I only wish that I were sober enough to post them! But, here goes.

Yours truly lost his ball on the first after a couple of crap shots but Josh, cool as ever, kept us in the game against that well known Meva bandit Rob Blames. A steady second hole, superb third shot to the third, followed by a battling fourth, fifth and sixth kept me off the card. Bunty and Blames were rocking! Unlike John Smith, Josh then carried on throughout the round, posting par after bogey on a difficult course, followed by a magnificent birdie on the 15th to blow away the opposition. He was awesome as the yanks say!

On the par 3 17th his drive took him to the back fringe with me in the bunker short right. Rob was on the green with his 'trusty' 4 iron. I played the bunker shot of my life to get within 3 feet but Josh was up and down in 3 and my putt was not required - again!

Bunty & Blames had the 4th best score of the day but it was immaterial; Josh rules OK? It was a pleasure to be in his shadow.

Travel Arrangements to St.Enodoc

It's getting close to our challenge match against The Tee 1 Up Society! The trophy is currently being engraved and hopefully we can take ownership of it for this year.

What about transport? We need to ensure that we take least cars as possible so please post your thoughts here................

Rob Blamey will be on the opposition and says he may drive and have room in his van for clubs, I will contact him tomorrow.
