I would like to use the blog site to record some of the things that have been said by our little society. For example, 'I am a golfer for Christ sake!' and 'Does anyone know where this man is supposed to be going?'

Now that Paul has unravelled the mysteries of weblogs all that remains is to try and figure out how to use his new mobile phone/ mobile camera. Seems to be a bit of a problem looking at this picture!


Perhaps I'll ask Sophie to help him - kids pick up new technology much faster than 'older' people, even old northerners!

The GOBDO website has been taken off fireflyuk.net and transfered to its own webspace.

This caused a connection breakdown for a while, and that coupled with a blogger.com technical problem its been a fun afternoon!

We are obviously back up on line (for the time being) so now I will try the next step and to format the page into our design.

Bound to #### it up! - please be patient.................. :))))))))

Looks like Alban Bid has managed to sign on at last! We think he is now struggling to upload a posting..?

Not being computer literate can be a problem but no worries, we are here to help! ;))

As I need to test the new site on line as I go along I thought that I might as well upload the pages as I do them.

This means that you will see the site progress but will have to wait for several (most) of the pages to be completed.

I am open to suggestions for content, links to other sites, images, type of info etc. etc. etc. It would be nice to have links to everybody's interests.

My most difficult task will be to format this blog to make it look part of the new site. This process may lose some or all of the posting already done???

If so, I apologise in advance, sooooo sorry :(

I will upload the Home Page tonight. You should still be able to access the blog from the home page. Please let me know if you have a problem

I'm surprised that Josh and Alban have not responded to our prodding yet; perhaps they're too shy!!!

Been emailing with John today about kippers and I queried his use of an s on the end of the word herring. His reply made me choke with laughter:

a herring - one fish
herrings - several individual fishes
herring - a mass of fish
herring aid - what I need

Alban and I turned up today at St.Austell full of optimism to meet up with fellow GOB's. It was raining, only a "little bit" compared to Wednesday last week at Brora. Infact it was a lot warmer!!

The course looked very green (lush!!) and inviting. We were tempted but, after an hours wait and full of coffee we left looking forward to next weeks GOBDO event......weather permitting.....!

Did we win anything just for turning up???

Anyway, anyone up for golf Sat?
