Why GOBDO?

Well, in 2004 a group of fantastically fit, skilled, dedicated, fanatical sportsmen came together to demonstrate the highest standards of golfing ability.

Their determination and sense of purpose is an inspiration to a generation of golfers.

The GOBDOs came about by happenstance and the need for a distraction for a small group of Cornwall's renegade golfers at about the same time as the above mentioned heroes retained the Ryder Cup.

The "Good Old Boys", as they have become known, have their "Day Out" on Wednesday afternoons pitting their limited skills against the delightful golf courses of Cornwall (and occasionally) Devon to contest for Medal, Stableford, Match Play, Skins and Birdies simultaneously.

Much more demanding than simple Ryder Cup format, don't you think?
